My Studious Summer School Students

Tomorrow we will be working on alliteration in poetry and creating a drawing using geometric patterns. I hope most of you have your supplies ready for tomorrow.

As discussed today if you do not finish your 3 sets of Math homework during the regular school week, it will become your weekend homework. Also, for those who have had their assignments checked, remember to make as many corrections as you can before your final grade.

This Saturday will be the first day of your reading journal entries. You must submit at least one entry for Saturday AND Sunday by Monday morning. To keep you on tract, remember to take the number of pages you have and divide them by about 20 (depending on the number of pages; some of you may need a few more days). Once you start the reading process on Saturday, you will not stop until your book is complete. Around week 3 or 4, we will be working on presenting your book to the class.

For Tuesday, June 17th, we will visit some Web sites. Please click on the following links to discover narrative writing tutorials for grade 6, grade 7, and grade 8. It is for the intermediate school level, but no matter your age, all of you will benefit from reviewing parts of a narrative to complete your narrative essay. Mrs. B

Our First Day of School

Hello all! What did you think of your first day of summer school? Well, remember, today and tomorrow are predominantly assessment days. Remember to pick one (or both) of the "Food for Thought" and answer them with honesty and much effort. It is due by Wednesday, 8 am. Also, remember your math supplies for geometry and poem supplies for our alliteration project. Lastly, please do not forget to pick a book for your summer book presentation. I will allow time for you tomorrow to visit our library and choose a book of your liking. The book must be at a reasonable reading level for you. God bless and I'll see you all tomorrow! Mrs. Brown

Aloha! Welcome to St. John the Baptist's summer school blog and Technology Integration Program site (TIPS). One of our main goals is to increase students' participation in technology and have students interact with other academic institutions. We hope you will join us and support our endeavors. We look forward to working on projects with schools who are open to adventure and new learning.
